What is Green Streets?

On a Green Street, all or most of the households take their recycling bins to the curb every other week.
By doing so, they help to save resources, conserve energy and create new usable products.

Does this sound like your neighborhood? If so, TFC Recycling wants to recognize you!

Starting in January 2017, TFC will honor blocks and neighborhoods in Chesapeake, Norfolk, Suffolk
and Virginia Beach that have recycling participation rates of 80% or higher.

TFC will consider nominations and electronic data it has from its collection process.
The winners will be honored and promoted as Hampton Roads environmental leaders!

What is Curbside Recycling?
Put it "In the Bin"!

With curbside recycling, the collection of recyclable materials proves convenient and effortless for the homeowner. For many of our customers, recycling is as easy as rolling your cart to the curb.

From there, TFC Recycling collects and transports your recyclables to our state-of-the-art Materials Recovery Facility (MRF). In most areas, curbside recycling services are offered on a bi-weekly basis and allow customers to mix recyclable paper, plastic, aluminum cans and glass in one bin.

The most common reason for not recycling is uncertainty over which items are recyclable. Don't let that happen to you!
